In the premiere episode, "The First One," Mike (Gerry Red Wilson) arrives home to loving wife, Patty (Kellie Overbey), with a dual purpose for celebrating: a promotion at his job to "head of the meat department" at the supermarket, and the vacancy of the upstairs apartment in his duplex, which he plans to turn into "Guy Town," a place where football and beer will be the greatest priorities. As luck would have it, Patty's snobby, Manhattanite sister, Catherine (Nadia Dajani), discovers that her wealthy husband has abandoned her and their 10-year-old son and taken all of their money. With no other options, Catherine must "temporarily" move into the upstairs apartment. This pains Mike not only because it means that "Guy Town" is put on hold, but to make matters worse, Catherine and Mike have a long-standing hate-hate relationship. But, that's life. "That's Life" offers a comedic, yet poignant, look at family relationships and the individuals within them. The family tries to make the best of life's peaks and valleys, but sometimes falls short. "That's Life" stars comedian Gerry Red Wilson as Mike, Kellie Overbey as Patty, Nadia Dajani as Catherine, Ron Livingston as Mitch, Mike's unattached best friend; Pauley Perrette as Lisa, Patty's free-spirited younger sister; and Michael Charles Roman as Kieran, the eccentric 10-year-old who rarely speaks. "The First One" was written by Eric Gilliland and directed by Michael Lembeck. Eric Gilliland is creator and executive producer of the series. Sid Youngers is co-executive producer. The Second One, Believe It or Not (March 17, 1998) MIKE'S PENDING VISIT TO A FERTILITY DOCTOR CAUSES HIM TREMENDOUS ANXIETY, ON ABC'S "THAT'S LIFE" "The Second One, Believe It or Not" -- Patty and Mike's inability to conceive means Mike must visit the doctor, which causes him tremendous anxiety, though he's trying not to show it. Meanwhile, Catherine returns to her Manhattan apartment to get the last of her belongings and is surprised at what she finds, on "That's Life," TUESDAY, MARCH 17 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
